What
We Believe
We believe the Bible to be the inspired,
the only infallible, authoritative Word of God.
All Scripture is God-breathed. (2 Timothy 3:16)
And the words of the LORD are flawless. (Psalm 12:6)
We believe that there is one God,
eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
But the LORD is the true God; he is the living God, the eternal
King. (Jeremiah 10:10)
Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the
name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. (Matthew 28:19)
We believe that for the salvation
of lost and sinful man, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely
essential.
... no one can enter the kingdom of God unless he is born of
water and the Spirit. (John 3:5)
We believe in the deity of our
Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles,
in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily
resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in
His personal return in power and glory.
For in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily
form. (Colossians 2:9)
This is how the birth of Jesus Christ came about: His mother Mary was
pledged to be married to Joseph, but before they came together, she was
found to be with child through the Holy Spirit... (Mathew 1:18)
God made him who had no sin to be sin for us... (2 Corinthians 5:21)
Jesus did many other miraculous signs... (John 20:30)
He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins... (I John 2:2)
God has raised this Jesus to life... (Acts 2:32)
... he was taken up before their very eyes, and a cloud hid him from their
sight. (Acts 1:9)
But from now on, the Son of Man will be seated at the right hand of the
mighty God. (Luke 22:69)
... This same Jesus ... will come back in the same way you have seen him
go into heaven. (Acts 1:11)
We believe in the present ministry
of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live
a godly life.
Don't you know that ... God's Spirit lives in you. (I Corinthians
3:16)
... the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought
to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us... (Romans 8:26)
We believe in the resurrection
of both the saved and the lost: they that are saved unto the resurrection
of life and they that are lost unto the resurrection of damnation.
... a time is coming when all who are in their graves will hear
his voice and come out-- those who have done good will rise to live, and
those who have done evil will rise to be condemned. (John 5:28-29)
We believe in the spiritual unity
of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ.
May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you a
spirit of unity among yourselves as you follow Christ Jesus... (Romans
15:5)
